Kayaking Holidays

Adventure holidays are becoming increasingly popular, holidaymakers are now looking for something more than lying by the pool and paddling in the sea… they want adventures, thrills and excitement.  Kayaking holidays are a fantastic alternative to the beach holiday and a beginner can quickly learn the basics of kayaking meaning the best experience can be taken away from the holiday.

You do not have to fly to exotic climates to enjoy a kayaking holiday; there are plenty of amazing rivers, lakes and coastal areas around the UK to enjoy.  My most recent kayaking holiday was a sea kayaking holiday in Scotland, the advantages of sea kayaking is that you get to see the landscape from a totally new perspective and enjoy scenery you would otherwise have missed.  Scotland is fantastic as the coastline is so varying with towering cliffs making way for inlets, which lead to sandy beaches and there are plenty of islands to explore.  Oban is a wonderful place to start, as it is an extremely pretty town to have a base from which to explore the surrounding coast.

If you do become more serious about your kayaking and want to explore the waterways of the UK then I recommend looking into inflatable canoes and kayaks as they allow you to pack them up easily into the care and travel across the UK with them.  Having a kayak or a canoe packed up in the car means that you can stop off anytime you see an interesting location or an area you would like to explore further.  I had an inflatable kayak in my car and ended up stopping off on my way down to London to explore the Great Ouse in Cambridgeshire.

So whether you are a complete novice or a fan of kayaking with an inflatable kayak in the boot of their car this is a great sport to get you outdoors and enjoying a totally new view of the world.

Conditions will vаry. Best choice, get to shore аnd seek the lowest point аvаilаble to wаit. Be sure а metаl shаfted pаddle is not set upright. аlwаys hаve dry clothes аvаilаble. Often storms bring in cold weаther аnd rаin.
